A fast- paced movie with hits, chases and the right mix
of romance and humour is Gilli. Director Dharani, known
for such movies, has come out with a three- hour
entertainer by having actor Vijay single- handedly take
on an influential gang and save a girl (Trisha) from
their clutches. A good screenplay with peppy numbers
has made the movie interesting. Though there is nothing new about the story, Gilli is
about a one-man army fighting the villain. After his
Dhil and Dhool with Vikram in the lead role, Dharani
has churned out this remake of the Telugu blockbuster
Okkadu. With a huge starcast and grand sets, the movie takes
many twists and turns. In between all this, is the
aspect of humour and romance. With these ingredients,
Dharani has given a sumptuous treat for Vijay's fans.
